The Western Lake Erie Basin Community Advisory Group was formed in 2023 to bring a range of perspectives together to inform the implementation of Michigan’s Domestic Action Plan. The group is made up of more than 65 members from across the Western Lake Erie Basin from Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties along with state-wide representatives residing in Michigan outside of the watershed and representatives from Ohio and Indiana. Advisory Group members were chosen based on a range of criteria. Each member is a community leader representing a network of individuals with interest in Western Lake Erie Basin water quality. Members are directly or indirectly involved in managing point or nonpoint phosphorus sources, are affected by excess nutrients in water, or are environmental advocates.
