Covering a service area of over 4.5 million acres and 12 Northern Michigan counties, Huron Pines has worked diligently to enhance the vibrance and stewardship of Great Lakes water resources in local communities. In 2020, this Dow Fellows team partnered with Huron Pines to evaluate the Community Vibrancy Dashboard from an interdisciplinary perspective that revealed strengths, weaknesses, and actionable next steps for this powerful assessment tool. As a result of their analysis and virtual consultation with community members and stakeholders, Huron Pines can prepare to take on a leading role in distributing a more optimized, accessible version of this tool to local Great Lakes communities and continue supporting the sustainable transformation of stormwater infrastructure in coastal Lake Huron.
