According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, over 20% of national energy consumption comes from the residential sector. To address this, Traverse City Light & Power (TCLP) has outlined a comprehensive roadmap in their Climate Action Plan to reduce energy consumption and electrify systems and appliances.
CLC Fellow Ryan Yip, in collaboration with TCLP and the GreenHome Institute, developed a residential energy coaching program designed to help residents achieve energy-efficient homes. The program offers a one-stop solution, with dedicated energy coaches serving as trusted advisors. Deliverables include a program template and a comprehensive residential energy coaching guidebook, both of which can be adopted and replicated by communities across Michigan.
