Jim's research explores the purpose, accountability, control and success of the firm, and even more generally, business itself, in society. Considering these issues with his students, he does his best to prepare them to lead in and for society. A founding co-editor of the Academy of Management Annals, a Senior Editor and Associate Editor-in-Chief for Organization Science, a Consulting Editor for the Academy of Management Review, and an Associate Editor for the Strategic Management Journal, Jim is currently a Consulting Editor for the Journal of Business Ethics. A recipient of the Academy of Management’s Career Distinguished Service Award, he has served both as the Dean of its Fellows Group and as its 65th president.
