Sarah Mills and Madeleine Krol of the Center for Empowering Communities provided a series of five policy recommendations to the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) to guide the implementation of PA 233, Michigan’s new renewable energy siting law, effective November 2024. Their recommendations, submitted between May and September 2024, aimed to support a smooth and effective implementation of PA 233 and cover several key areas: approval pathways and public input (May 2024); decommissioning (May 2024); site plans and emergency response (June 2024); community planning (July 2024); sound (September 2024).
