This course covers advanced and state-of-the-art topics in modern optoelectronic devices including semiconductor lasers, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), photodetectors, solar cells, and optical modulators. Familiarity with the Maxwell's equations and semiconductor pn junctions at the undergraduate level is assumed.
