Mary Kay joined the Graham Sustainability Institute in 2019 as Executive Secretary, directly supporting the Graham Family Director, as well as the Managing Director. She also works closely with the Development Director in matters relating to philanthropy, donor engagement, stewardship and research. In her other roles at Graham, Mary Kay serves as the DEI Lead to the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and provides support to Graham’s Communications Team. Prior to coming to Graham, she worked for Michigan Medicine’s Office of Development as part of the Cancer Programs Team.
Also known as MK, Mary Kay is a Michigan native originally from Dexter. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, and double minors in Advertising and German. Before coming to the University of Michigan, MK was a reference librarian for the Bay County Library System, department manager for Hobby Lobby stores, and event coordinator for Red Hacker Basketball, a traveling tournament company offering 3-on-3, 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 team options in organized and officiated basketball tournament play for athletes of all ages and skill levels.
