Alison completed her PhD with Dr. Jennifer Blesh in the School for Environment and Sustainability, where she conducted collaborative research with grain farmers in the Western Lake Erie Basin to study the effects of cover crop diversity on soil nitrogen cycling. Alison also worked with a farmer network in the Mississippi River Watershed to understand how early adopter farmers can use language to normalize and increase adoption of conservation practices. At the Water Center, Alison works collaboratively with Michigan's Quality of Life Agencies to support collaborative governance of policies that impact nutrient pollution in Lake Erie.
