Abdon's research focuses on soft matter engineering with applications in healthcare, robotics, and environmental applications. His research includes the development of biodegradable polymers, bio-derived polymers, self-healing materials for life-cycle management, microfiber pollution, sustainable wearable technology, degradable robotics, and self-powered robots for the environment (for environmental remediation and capture of pollutants from wastewater).
He is also teaching sustainable materials design and engineering in MSE 481 (Fall term).
