This project, conducted by a 2025 Dow Sustainability Fellows team in partnership with the Wayne County Sustainability & Innovation Division (WCSID), aimed to develop evidence-based tools to guide the County’s resilience hub network, prioritize climate resilience funding, and communicate effectively with residents. The WCSID leads efforts to strengthen climate resilience across 96 municipalities, particularly in communities facing flooding, extreme heat, and environmental inequities. The project included literature review, data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and site visits, culminating in three key deliverables: Resilience Hub Network Case Studies, a Climate Resilience People Tool Framework, and Community Portraits of resilience hub member organizations. These tools provide a holistic understanding of community vulnerabilities, highlight best practices from peer networks, and showcase local experiences and strategies for adaptation.
This report summarizes the team’s work. Project deliverables are included at the end.
