Working with the Leslie Science and Nature Center, this Graham Sustainability Scholars team developed potential renovations on the DTE Energy House, an installment funded by DTE to showcase renewable energy and sustainable technology. The Energy House was built to serve functional and educational purposes through its sustainable features. However, over time, renovations have become necessary to bring the structure’s sustainable features up to modern standards. By conducting research and utilizing informational interviews, this team identified necessary updates to the DTE house and addressed how updates might contribute to educational opportunities within the installation. Recommendations were organized by cost into a tier system, with each tier designed to be implemented when funds were available.
