This Graham Sustainability Scholars team worked with the Ecology Center to revitalize the “My Solar School Project” competition that began in 2018. The competition encourages teams (grades K-12) to pursue solar electric installations at their school, but it stalled due to lack of personnel. Building on the curriculum developed by the Ecology Center for Michigan teachers, this Scholars team provide support and resources to teachers. In addition to developing the educational program, the team developed a database of local solar installers to increase accessibility to the industry for educators in Michigan. Further recommendations include engagement with Ann Arbor Public Schools to implement the project and a system of direct communication with educators that would provide feedback to the Ecology Center.
