To understand the disruptive status of sustainability in markets, the Dow Fellow Teams partnered with Quantis to find trends and build recommendations on sustainability practices. As a firm that provides technical assistance to established companies on science driven sustainability, the partnership sought to understand how Quantis could use their institutional knowledge to help start-ups get to market and operate sustainably and efficiently. With the literature review and the conducted interviews, the team provided deliverables that bridged a gap between ideal circular economy models and established company sustainability practices. Ultimately, four key recommendations were provided: partner with business development organizations to reach startup markets, offer sustainable verification programs, offer less technical service focused on helping start-ups, and continue to research innovative start-ups and offer services in exchange for information.
