SSC offers two different grant options in support of student-driven sustainability projects. Read more about each option below, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us at sustainability.coalition.core@umich.edu if you are unsure about which grant is the right fit for your idea/project or with any other questions.
Planet Blue Student Innovation Fund (PBSIF)
Student Sustainability Coalition-awarded funding of up to $50,000 per semester for ambitious, student-initiated projects that reduce U-M's environmental footprint and promote a culture of sustainability on campus. PBSIF projects have a focus on creating a lasting impact on campus sustainability.
Applications are accepted midway through each semester, once per semester.
Social and Environmental Sustainability (SES)
Funding of up to $2,500 in support of smaller-scale projects that advance environmental- and DEI&J-focused sustainability on campus, including events. Projects awarded funding through SES place an emphasis on the intersection of environmental sustainability and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Justice.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
See here for a list of additional on-campus sources of funding for student projects.
