Thomas Princen's teaching areas include institutions for sustainability, and political economy of environmental change. His research focuses on the behavioral and institutional requirements for ecological and social sustainability; principles and concepts, stories and cases for ecologically rational organization including the political economy of environmental change, overconsumption, sufficiency, ecological economy, institutional design, transnational relations, business and environment, and water quantity.
