Sara Rollet Gosman is a Lecturer at the University of Michigan Law School. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.P.A. from the Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government. Her research explores risk and uncertainty in the context of environmental and energy law, focusing on the challenges and opportunities for policy and the diverse roles of public and private actors. Her research interests are varied and include oil and natural gas development, children’s health and environmental justice, and water use in the Great Lakes region. She is an expert on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and its implications for law and policy. She has written on the rapid rise of state information disclosure policies, which require oil and gas well operators to disclose the chemical constituents of hydraulic fracturing fluid. She is also the faculty lead on policy and law for an integrated assessment on hydraulic fracturing in Michigan, sponsored by the Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute at the University of Michigan.
