My research focuses on understanding human adaptation to climate change in fire-prone ecosystems. This research, which is supported by the MCubed program, involves a collaboration with Dr. Paige Fischer (School for Environment and Sustainability), Dr. Seth Guikema (Industrial & Operations Engineering) and Dr. Gretchen Keppel-Aleks (Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Space Sciences). I came to the University of Michigan from the University of California-Davis, where I completed a PhD in Ecology (emphasis on environmental policy). My doctoral research focused on how stakeholder networks address cooperation challenges in climate change adaptation governance in the Lake Victoria region, East Africa. I use network analysis, spatial modeling, surveys, interviews, and participatory data collection methodologies.
