- Electrical Eng. and Comp. Sci.
Dr. Lynch's interests are centered on the application of advance sensing technologies to solve complex issues in infrastructure sustainability. His primary research efforts are focused on the development of sensors and sensing systems for monitoring civil infrastructure systems to assess their performance and health. Many of his research projects are seeking to extend the service lives of civil infrastructure systems by tracking performance over their complete life-cycle so that initial energy costs can be amortized over longer service lives. Another research interest is centered on monitoring and control of built facilities to reduce energy consumption while enhancing occupant comfort.
