Area of Interest: My primary areas of interest are sustainable food systems and urban planning.
Fieldwork Experiences: I went on an Alternative Spring Break trip to South Bend, Indiana to volunteer and study hunger and food justice in the area. I plan on studying food and agriculture in Italy next winter.
Relevant Work: I participated in UROP my freshman year. Along with two other graduate students and another undegraduate student we researched environmental education and the Washtenaw County food system. I have been involved and volunteering with Student Food Co., a student organization on campus for two years. This organization provides students access to healthy and affordable food twice a week through a produce stand. During the summer of 2017, I was a farm intern at a vegetable farm, Juniper Hill Farm. For the past year, I have been a Student Farm Manager at Campus Farm.
