Transformation Grants

The FY2017 Transformation cycle is closed to new applications

Transformation grants are intended to support a wide range of collaborative research and assessment projects lasting from one up to three years at up to $150,000 per year. Transformation grant project teams must include researchers from multiple disciplines and must work with an external partner from goverment, industry, or non-governmental organizations to identify actionable options to advance sustainability. In comparison to catalyst grants, transformation grants are intended to support projects with potential for significantly greater impact.

How to apply

The FY2017 Transformation Grant proposals are under review, and the following information is available for reference only. The FY2018 grant cycle (catalyst and transformation) is anticipated to begin Fall 2017. Applicants should submit materials using the online application form and provide all elements described in the Transformation Grant Request for Proposals (RFP). A letter of intent is a required proposal element and must be submitted online by December 19, 2016. Applications for transformation grants must be submitted by February 13, 2017. Required documents are below.
