Co-Curricular Activites

Besides the coursework, scholars participate in a variety of activities together outside of class, including:

Dinner & Documentary Nights: Each month during the winter semester, the Scholars get together and have dinner while watching a documentary related to global environmental issues – such as Blue Vinyl and No Impact Man.

Coffee with Sustainability Practitioners: During fall & winter semesters, scholars are invited to get to know sustainability leaders in the area through informal discussions.

Pot-lucks: The Sustainability Scholars are notoriously creative when it comes to bringing food for potlucks. Who can make the best vegan muffins? How about the most interesting sandwich? There are many pot-lucks throughout the year; some are planned, while others are more spontaneous. The end-of-the-year potluck is always a great way to send off the graduating seniors.

“Eco-mmendable Actions” Blog: There are many global environmental issues, and the Sustainability Scholars are on the hunt for creative solutions to these complex problems. They created a blog to share what they have discovered – “Eco-mmendable Actions”. It portray’s the positive accomplishments that individuals, businesses, and communities have been undertaking. Check out the blog to see what stories they have found!
