Environment and the Immune Response

EHS 625

Environmental and occupational exposures to pollutants and toxicants in air, water, and food, whether synthetic or natural, influence human by interacting with the hosts immune system. These exposures can either initiate or exacerbate human disease. The course will consist of detailed evaluations of papers, chosen by the students, that explore the impact of environmental and occupational exposures in immunesuppression, autoimmunity, or hypersensitivity.
